During July and August, the New Mexico Youth Conservation Corps. worked in the Willow Creek bosque.
They are students ages 14 to 18. YCC cleared invasives, built check dams to prevent erosion and a trail connecting the two side of the loop trail, and created informational signs along the trail. An outdoor classroom was also created.

YCC conducted tour for NM Forestry, City of Rio Rancho and Friends of Rio Rancho Open Space.
